The Town of Sterling is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our Department of Public Works as a full-time Driver/Laborer. This is a great opportunity to build a stable career while making a direct impact in your community.
What You’ll Do
In this hands-on role, you’ll be involved in a variety of essential public works operations, including:
• Performing skilled construction and maintenance labor
• Operating a range of light and heavy equipment
• Driving vehicles over 26,000 GVW
• Supporting critical snow and ice removal operations during winter months
What We’re Looking For
• Valid Class B CDL
• 2B Hoisting License
• A strong work ethic and willingness to work in all weather conditions
Compensation & Growth
• Starting pay: $24.68 – $27.76/hour (based on qualifications)
• Effective July 1, 2026: $25.42 – $28.59/hour (3% COLA increase)
• Growth potential: Up to $30.64/hour, increasing to $31.56 on July 1, 2026, with anticipated annual increases
