Position Summary
This position is responsible for directing and managing engineering and construction activities associated with a wide range of public improvement projects, including wastewater collection systems, stormwater infrastructure, public buildings, roadways, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the Town’s infrastructure while supporting long-term community development goals.
Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations of public infrastructure assets to assess condition, capacity, and overall performance; identifying short- and long-term capital improvement needs; and advancing projects through planning, public engagement, funding acquisition, prioritization, design, and construction.
The position also oversees the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and associated bid documents; evaluates consultant and contractor proposals; manages contracts and project budgets; and coordinates effectively with consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and Town stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include overseeing permitting activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, managing right-of-way acquisitions, and providing construction oversight to resolve field issues and implement design modifications when necessary.
