The Director administers the City’s contracts related to the management of waste and oversees all operations of the City’s Recycling Center and Yard Waste Collection program, as well as all associated operational and administrative staff. Additionally, the Director manages the City’s Street Sweeping operations and all associated staff. The Director obtains financial aid through applications for state and federal grants/loans and performs public outreach/education on the programs offered by the City. The Director works within DPW and with other departments to help ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ordinances related to waste, and develops training and materials to assist departments and the general public to stay in compliance and encourage waste reduction.
