Position Summary
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Senior Water Filtration Plant Operator is responsible for the independent operation, maintenance, and optimization of the City’s 50 MGD Class IV direct filtration drinking water treatment plant and its associated systems, equipment, and instrumentation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of drinking water to the community.
The position is responsible for implementing and recommending improvements to Standard Operating Procedures related to plant operations, while supporting continuous process improvement and regulatory compliance. In addition, the Senior Water Filtration Plant Operator provides oversight and supervision of Water Filtration Plant personnel, helping to maintain high standards of performance, safety, and operational excellence.
This position operates on a schedule of three 13.33-hour shifts per week. Work schedules may vary and can include nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require. Occasional overtime opportunities are available to provide shift coverage and support plant operations.
