Position Summary
The Deputy Director of Operations assists the Director of Public Works in developing and implementing long-term programs and initiatives across the Department’s various divisions. Reporting directly to the Director, this position plans, organizes, and oversees the operation and maintenance of Town facilities and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include leadership and oversight of facility maintenance, grounds, custodial services, transportation, safety programs, energy conservation initiatives, sustainability efforts, long-range facility planning, and departmental budgets related to facilities and operations. The position also manages major capital building and repair projects, oversees hazardous and environmental matters, and coordinates projects and activities across Public Works divisions to ensure efficient and effective service delivery throughout the Town.
