The Transportation Program Manager serves as a key leader in shaping and managing the Town’s transportation infrastructure, with responsibility across traffic engineering, roadway safety, and multimodal planning. Reporting to Public Works leadership, this role oversees a wide range of initiatives, including roadway, intersection, pedestrian, bicycle, and traffic signal projects, while ensuring alignment with broader capital improvement efforts. The position operates with a high level of independence, evaluating traffic impacts, reviewing development proposals, and developing practical solutions that enhance safety, mobility, and accessibility. It also plays an active role in policy implementation, helping guide transportation standards, planning frameworks, and long term infrastructure decisions.

This position combines technical expertise with strong coordination and public engagement responsibilities. The manager leads transportation studies, manages projects from planning through construction, and collaborates closely with internal departments, external agencies, consultants, and the public. The role also responds directly to resident concerns and supports public meetings, requiring clear communication of complex technical issues to diverse audiences. With a focus on data driven decision making and continuous improvement, the Transportation Program Manager advances initiatives such as Complete Streets, traffic calming, and roadway safety programs while ensuring projects remain compliant, well managed, and aligned with the Town’s long term transportation goals.
