Kürt Blomquist, PE, is the Emergency Management Administrator for the City of Keene, New Hampshire, and a dedicated leader in public works and emergency management. With a career spanning over 30 years, he previously served as Keene’s Public Works Director, Assistant City Manager, and Emergency Management Director, overseeing critical infrastructure, disaster response, and climate resiliency initiatives. A registered Professional Engineer in New Hampshire and California, Kürt's expertise includes infrastructure planning, asset management, and emergency preparedness. He is a 2019 APWA Top Ten Leader and was named the 2024 New Hampshire Engineer of the Year. Throughout his career, he has championed sustainability, leading projects like Keene’s solar energy expansions and integrating climate resiliency into infrastructure planning. As Massachusetts Director for APWA New England, Kürt continues his commitment to advancing public works excellence, advocating for climate adaptation strategies, and preparing communities to respond and recover from unplanned events.
