Kirk Severance is the Director of Public Works for the Town of Granby, Connecticut, a role he has held since 2014. A lifelong Granby resident, Kirk has been dedicated to serving his community through public works since 1984. Before becoming Director, he served as Deputy Director of Operations for seven years, overseeing key infrastructure projects and maintenance operations.
Under Kirk’s leadership, the department is responsible for maintaining town buildings, roads, bridges, parks, and the transfer station, ensuring essential services run efficiently for residents. He holds multiple certifications in road maintenance, hazard communications, tree care, and environmental protection.
As Connecticut Director for APWA New England, Kirk is committed to fostering collaboration and innovation in public works. A proud UConn T2 graduate, he continues to apply his expertise to enhance Granby’s infrastructure while keeping costs low and service quality high. His passion for community service remains at the heart of his work.
