Lisa Schaeffler is a Public Assistance Coordinator with Vermont Emergency Management in the Public Safety Division, where she assists municipalities navigating FEMA disaster events. With over 17 years of experience in public works, including serving as the Director of Public Works for the Town of Milton and Assistant Director in Williston, Lisa understands the critical role of infrastructure in community resilience. In 2018, Lisa became an APWA Certified Public Works Manager.
A Milton native and graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in civil engineering, she is passionate about supporting Vermont’s municipalities—especially its smallest public works departments—by providing the tools they need in times of crisis. Lisa is an active leader in the New England Chapter of the APWA, currently serving as Chapter President.
Outside of work, she enjoys boating and fishing on Lake Champlain with her husband. Though she resides in Jericho, she remains committed to strengthening Vermont communities.
